The symptoms of a traumatic brain injury vary from one person to another, and although some symptoms might resolve completely, others, especially as a result of moderate and severe TBI’s, can result in symptoms that persist, resulting in partial disability, permanent disability or loss of life.
A TBI is caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head or a penetrating head injury that disrupts the normal function of the brain. The severity of a TBI may range from “mild” to “severe”. An estimated 1,700,000 (1.7 million) people sustain a traumatic brain injury each year. Of them, there are more than 52,000 deaths each year due to traumatic brain injuries. And, each year there are more than 275,000 hospitalizations due to traumatic brain injuries.
Each year, traumatic brain injuries (TBI) contribute to a substantial number of deaths and cases of permanent disability. Motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of traumatic brain injury related deaths and are most prevalent in adults ages 20 to 24 years. Also, motor vehicle injures are the second leading cause and makes up 17% of traumatic brain injuries in the United States.

Getting into an accident really sucks. You " think you know how to do a claim", but you learn that you really do not know how to do a claim if you have done it by yourself in the past.I got into a minor fender bender - person rear ended me at slow speed.
