Biography
Michael is recognized as one of Georgia’s premier wrongful death and serious injury attorneys. He has the highest rating available by Martindale-Hubbell as an “AV Rated” Preeminent Attorney for his legal ability and ethical standards, which is the gold standard in attorney ratings.
In addition, since 2019, Michael has been awarded the Judicial “AV Preeminent Rating” by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest possible distinction and is especially noteworthy because it is based on the confidential opinions and recommendation of Judges and those in the judiciary.
Recently, Michael was awarded the Atlanta Jewish Times, Readers’ Choice Awards – Best of Jewish Atlanta as the top Serious Injury / Wrongful Death Law Firm. In the past, Michael has been selected multiple times for both The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 and the top distinction of Legal Elite by Georgia Trend Magazine. Further, in 2017, 2018, and 2019, Michael was recognized by the American Society of Legal Advocates with the award of Top 40 Litigation Lawyer Under 40.
Most recently, Michael was awarded the Atlanta Jewish Times Top 40 Under 40 for the accomplishments of his law firm as well as his work as a State Representative.
In addition to his law practice, Michael was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2018 and represented State House District 79, covering Dunwoody, a part of Doraville, and a small piece of Chamblee. He won his second election in 2020. He was a member of the Judiciary Committee, Regulated Industries Committee, Intragovernmental Coordination Committee, and the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee. Michael returned to solely practicing law in 2022, but still assists for various reasons at the State Capitol.
Michael is a member of the American Association of Justice, The Dunwoody Bar Association, the Jewish Bar Association of Georgia, the Rotary Club of Metro Atlanta, is on the Anti-Defamation League Southeast Regional Civil Rights Committee, and is an Arbitrator for the State Bar of Georgia Fee Arbitration Program.
Michael is past HOA President of Ashford Chase and Past President of Brotherhood at Congregation B’nai Torah. He is a past member of The Posse Foundation Leadership Committee, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association Legislative Committee, The City of Dunwoody Farmers Market Committee, and The City of Dunwoody Sustainability Committee.
